Assessment Centres

Assessment Centres (and Development Centres) comprise a series of techniques designed to facilitate decision making on a group of individuals. They are generally recognised as being one of the best predictors of job performance.

The British Psychological Society (2015) has launched a new set of Standards for the Design and Delivery of Assessment Centres, and you can download the document here.

Usually lasting a full day (or more in some cases), they consist of a number of different work-related tasks, such as 'In-Tray' and 'Leaderless Group  Discussion' exercises, Interviews and Presentations, as well as Psychometric Tests and Questionnaires. They are extremely demanding for  candidates, and generate a wealth of information. The event operates on a strict time schedule, and is overseen by a number of trained observers, often including relevant personnel from the organisation. We work with you and your team to plan, prepare and deliver assessment centres.
